Consultation on successful patent registration: customer Chim Van Cang

In the busy atmosphere of the late days of 2022, IP GROUP once again received the joy of a successful patent registration for “Metal Mesh Weaving System with Pre-Stressed Hexagonal Eyes and a Method for Weaving Metal Mesh with these Eyes” by the applicant Chim Van Cang. The patent was granted the exclusive patent number 1-0334417 by the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam.

This patent involves a metal mesh weaving system that produces metal meshes with hexagonal eyes (also known as foxhole meshes) that have high mechanical strength and better load-bearing capabilities compared to other types of metal mesh weaves. These woven mesh products are widely used in various fields such as aquaculture, livestock farming, agriculture, basic construction, mining, and the aerospace industry.

Currently, both domestic and international markets offer various types of hexagonal mesh weaving machines. However, these machines still have some drawbacks, including:

1. The need for multiple metal wire inputs, resulting in sharp wire ends in the woven hexagonal mesh, leading to safety concerns during use.

2. The production of only one type of hexagonal mesh structure, with fixed mesh sizes and widths, limiting the versatility of mesh applications.

3. The hexagonal mesh edges tend to bend and do not lie straight on the mesh surface, resulting in uneven tension and limited load-bearing capacity and elasticity.

4. The use of crescent-shaped twist heads, suitable only for weaving hexagonal mesh structures with small wire diameters.

5. Lack of full automation in operation due to the absence of a programmable control system.

The patent “Metal Mesh Weaving System with Pre-Stressed Hexagonal Eyes and a Method for Weaving Metal Mesh with these Eyes” by inventor Chim Van Cang was developed to comprehensively address these limitations and has successfully achieved:

1. A pre-stressed hexagonal mesh weaving system in which the hexagonal mesh weaving machine has components that create pre-stress for the woven mesh, resulting in high durability and load-bearing capacity, as well as excellent mesh elasticity.

2. A pre-stressed hexagonal mesh weaving system in which the weaving machine’s structure is adaptable to various wire diameters and can weave hexagonal meshes of different sizes. Each mesh width can be adjusted along the vertical direction, allowing for convenient assembly and versatile usage.

3. A pre-stressed hexagonal mesh weaving system that requires only a single, small-diameter metal wire as input but produces mesh components that are convenient for installation, shaping, and customization for various purposes.

4. A pre-stressed hexagonal mesh weaving system with a control unit that enables fully automatic machine operation.

IP GROUP congratulates inventor Chim Van Cang on receiving a well-deserved outcome for the valuable research they have conducted!

Successful Consultation: Exclusive patent for multi-purpose fertilizer in the USA

IP GROUP has successfully registered a patent in the USA for a fertilizer invention titled “Multipurpose fertilizer composition and method of manufacturing the same,” authored by Le Chi Thanh and owned by Vietnam High-Tech Technology Corporation. The patent was granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office under patent number US 11,512,029 on November 29, 2022.

Against the backdrop of Vietnam using approximately 10 million tons of various fertilizers and tens of thousands of tons of plant protection products in agricultural production each year, coupled with fluctuations in climate patterns due to indiscriminate water use resulting in localized droughts that cause significant crop damage, the “Multipurpose fertilizer composition and method of manufacturing the same” patent was developed with the aim of creating a versatile fertilizer production process to address these challenges. This fertilizer meets various requirements such as:

✔️ Providing all necessary nutrients to crops, enhancing mineral absorption, while preventing mineral leaching during flooding or vaporization during drought, balancing pH, and retaining soil moisture.

✔️ Producing high-nutrient value fertilizer with the potential to reduce environmental pollution, balance microorganisms, supply organic matter, and prevent soil erosion and degradation.

✔️ Utilizing readily available waste materials with low cost but high nutrient content.

✔️ Creating multi-purpose fertilizers with useful features and effectiveness, contributing to reducing the use of chemical fertilizers, improving crop quality, preserving soil fertility, and limiting pollution of agricultural land, groundwater, and river systems.

✔️ Saving production costs and time.

In general, current research and production trends have focused on organic fertilizers from biochar, specialized fertilizers, functional fertilizers, and nano-technology fertilizers. However, most technical solutions only address moisture-retaining fertilizers and the raw materials for fertilizer components, without detailing the ingredient preparation processes and standard mixing steps for creating multi-purpose fertilizers.

The “Multipurpose fertilizer composition and method of manufacturing the same” patent promises to bring new, positive, and sustainable signs for the agricultural industry in the future.

Bio-products from dried banyan leaves kill bacteria and fungi in fish ponds

Emerging from the 2022 Innovative Start-up Competition organized by Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the biological product made from dried banyan leaves has also been one of the projects highly praised by IP GROUP while participating as a judge in this competition.

This product is used in fish ponds and has the ability to eliminate various bacteria and fungi in water and on the bodies of fish, while being safe for humans due to the violaxanthin compound extracted from selected, cleaned, and sterilized dried banyan leaves. The product has achieved the expected effectiveness during real-life tests in fish ponds, both on a small and large scale.

However, to bring it into commercial production on a larger scale and to establish intellectual property rights for this product, there may still be a long journey ahead. Among the challenges, the first issue to address is to find a source of raw materials that ensures quality and an adequate supply for large-scale production. Furthermore, in the context where there have been many studies on the medicinal properties of banyan leaves and their applications in biological products, is it easy to successfully register industrial ownership (intellectual property) for this product?

Copyrighted works could potentially become bank collateral in Indonesia

Although there are still many conflicting opinions regarding whether copyrighted YouTube videos can be used as collateral for banks in Indonesia, this appears to be an initiative by the national government to assert the definite value of the author’s copyrights (intellectual property). These copyrights can generate income even after the owner of the work passes away.

However, to meet the requirements to become collateral, it is certain that the author’s copyrights need to undergo content assessment and a thorough evaluation of their profit potential. Therefore, the process of enforcing this proposed law may not be easy.

Nevertheless, this is also an encouraging signal regarding the recognition of the true value of intellectual property in one of the Southeast Asian countries. In the not-so-distant future, could all types of intellectual property potentially become collateral?

How do technology and patents hold “POWER”?

After several years of patent disputes over 4G technology with Nokia, two smartphone companies, Oppo and OnePlus, belonging to the BBK corporation, are facing a tough situation in the German market. In the future, if courts in other European countries continue to rule in favor of Nokia, these two smartphone brands and some others under BBK’s umbrella may disappear entirely from the markets in various European countries.

Winning advantages in patent lawsuits in different European countries seems to be a challenging task for BBK. In case of losing these lawsuits, BBK would have to withdraw from this significant market or agree to significant settlements to continue its business.

Interestingly, in the past, some Nokia phone models also disappeared from the German market due to patent disputes for similar reasons.

Clearly, the competitive power that patents bring is immensely significant. So, have Vietnamese businesses genuinely shown interest in developing this aspect?

Do intellectual assets create tangibles???

Perhaps “copyright fees” is a term that is not unfamiliar to the majority of the public. However, what exactly is copyright fees and how are they received may not be well-known to everyone.

In particular, for the music industry, which is mentioned in the article, there are many issues related to copyright and copyright fees. Not only that, since this is also a type of property, future generations can completely inherit the work after the owner has passed away. Of course, users of the work still have to pay copyright fees as usual until the work’s protection period expires.

This also demonstrates that the value of intellectual property or intangible property is not insignificant; in fact, it can be a significant source of passive income for both the owners and their descendants.

However, not everyone understands and values this value. IP Group once again wants to address the widespread copyright infringement and the use of intellectual property without payment in Vietnam. Whether intentional or unintentional, this is a violation that needs to be dealt with decisively.

This applies not only to music but also to any type of intellectual property, which can provide material benefits to the owner if it is properly and effectively utilized.

Understanding the role of intellectual property and the ongoing challenges, IP Group has outlined its mission, which is to protect and develop Vietnamese intellectual property!

📚 We invite you to read the illustrative article on intellectual property in the music industry to learn more about the value of intellectual property!
